Information for Parents
One of the most difficult things for parents is to have your children leave home, and especially so when they are going to study in another country.
AOSA is here to provide you with assurances that your children will be taken care of throughout their study abroad, be it in primary/secondary school or college or university. Additionally, students will also benefit from our programs should they decide to stay at home.
We begin by interviews, in person or on line, with parents and students to determine the students’ strengths and weaknesses so as to match them with the institutions that best fit their abilities and interests. If there are weaknesses that can be corrected at home, e.g. language abilities, then we recommend that this be done before departure from home.
Once this is done, and students are ready to decide, we help with all aspects of preparation for departure, including:
• Helping students to apply to their preferred high schools, colleges and universities
• Helping students to apply for student visas for the country of their choice
• Assisting with program planning
• Support on arrival in the new country
• Home-stay placements where appropriate
• Mentorship programs
• Employment support
• We offer scholarships for particularly deserving students (See for example CYFLE – China Youth Foundation for Foreign Language Education).
And we will send regular independent reports to parents, letting them know how students are doing throughout their international studies.
